Internship at the Calvert Marine Museum (2018)
During the Summer of 2018, I was the Exhibits intern at the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons, MD. While I was there, I created sketches of different marine life, such as spadefish, a horseshoe crab, and four types of coral that would be incorporated onto a large scale mural in the museum. In addition helping to paint the mural (which is where I really learned how to use acrylic), I also researched and illustrated a Little Skate, which I spent a good majority of time observing in my free time. I loved the way that they sort of fluttered across the sandy floor of the tank and how they interacted with the other skates/rays in the tank.
